Nominations Open for 2025 Celebration of Excellence Awards

When you think of excellence in the Minnetonka Public School District, is there a person who comes to mind who helps to make the District exceptional? A teacher or paraprofessional? A staff member? A volunteer in the schools? Whether you are a parent, student, staff member or community member, you have the opportunity to nominate someone for a Minnetonka Schools Child-Centered Award of Excellence. 

Award categories include:

 

  • Minnetonka Award for Child-centered Excellence in Teaching
  • Minnetonka Award for Child-centered Excellence in Teaching E-learners
  • Minnetonka Employee Award for Child-centered Excellence
  • Team Award for Child-centered Collaboration
  • Bradley G. Board Award for Excellence in Elementary Education
  • Joyce Gustafson Memorial Award
  • Judy Erdahl Memorial Award
  • Spinnaker (School Volunteer) Award
  • Minnetonka Community Education Award

Award recipients are selected from the pool of nominations by a committee of past award honorees. Award winners will be recognized at the District’s annual Celebration of Excellence awards ceremony on May 15, 2025. Additional details about the Celebration event will be provided as it approaches.

Please take a few moments to learn more about the award categories and to acknowledge a school employee or school volunteer for their dedication and impact by nominating them for a Child-Centered Award of Excellence. Nominations are open through February 28, 2025.

VANTAGE Students Recognized as Emerging Leaders in Traffic Safety

The 2024-25 VANTAGE Multimedia Communications students at Minnetonka High School have been honored with the Emerging Leader Award by Minnesota’s Toward Zero Deaths (TZD) initiative for their outstanding collaboration with the South Lake Minnetonka and City of Minnetonka police departments.

Facilities Study Task Force Delivers Comprehensive Plan for District’s Future

The Minnetonka School Board has unanimously voted to put forth a referendum in November asking voters to consider an $85M Building Bond to enable long-term investment in safe, modern and adaptable learning environments. The bond payments would be structured in a way that allows for no net tax increase for taxpayers for the General Obligation Bond portion of their property taxes.

MME 6th Graders Present "Madagascar Jr."

The 2025 6th Grade Musical, Madagascar JR is playing at MME beginning Thursday, November 13 through Saturday, November 15.  Order tickets online; $5 for students and $10 for adults/seniors.

Celebrating Child Nutrition Employees 2025

From October 6–10, Minnetonka Schools recognized our Nutrition Services Department by celebrating Child Nutrition Employee Appreciation Week. These dedicated staff members nourish our students and fuel their learning every day.

Celebrating Bus Drivers 2025

From October 6–10, Minnetonka Schools proudly celebrated Bus Driver Appreciation Week, honoring the dedicated drivers and transportation staff who ensure students travel safely to and from school each day.

Celebrating Maintenance & Custodial Staff 2025

From September 29-October 3, Minnetonka Public Schools is celebrating Maintenance and Custodial Staff Appreciation Week. Maintenance and custodial staff include building engineers, custodians, groundskeepers, HVAC professionals, carpenters, painters and maintenance drivers. They work to keep the Minnetonka School district buildings safe and clean places for learning and play a crucial role in all of the District's organized activities and events.
